What to Expect with a YUMI™ Brow Lamination Appointment
Brow Lamination: you’re going to love it
Warning: Once you discover YUMI™ brown lamination at our West Leederville brow clinic, there may be no turning back. Much like lip fillers and Veuve Clicquot, once you’ve experienced true joy firsthand, there’s no stopping you.
So what’s the big deal?
A brow lamination gives you beautiful eyebrows. We’re talking full, straight, perfectly groomed brows that Do As They’re Told. Brows that permanently look brushed up and glossy with gorgeousness. If you like, think of it as a perm for your eyebrows. Except hairs are set straight, not curly. It’s also known as a brow lift or brow sculpt because it is all that too.
Lamination gives you a similar look to microblading, but with less permanency.
Who is lamination best for?
Loads of people can benefit from brow lamination. Essentially, anyone who wants to improve the look of their natural brows is a fab candidate. If you want added volume and a more defined arch, better still. For those with thin brows, they’ll be fuller. Got full brows? They’ll be fuller again. And fluffier.
How to prepare for brow lamination
There’s not much to do before your appointment. If you use any retinols on your skin, give them a miss for a couple of days before. If you’d like tremendously fluffy brows, don’t trim any eyebrow hair before your appointment so the stylist can do her thing to your best advantage on the day.
What happens during your YUMI™ lamination
NB: You must have a patch test before the appointment to make sure your skin is okay. The lamination appointment will take under 45 minutes.
1: We’ll cleanse your brows and mark the shape we both agree is the most flattering for your face.
2: We’ll remove any stray hairs before we start.
3: We pop the straightening lotion onto your hairs and cover it with Glad Wrap. Then, we wait a few minutes. During this time, the lotion will open and change the structure of the hair follicles.
4. The lotion is removed.
5. The setting lotion is applied to fix the hairs in place. This takes about 8-10 minutes.
6. Finally, we apply YUMI™’s kerain-based serum to soothe and hydrate your skin and hair.
Often we tint (not henna) your brow hair to increase the look of fullness (unless you would prefer not).
Does it hurt?
Not at all. With a YUMI™ brow lamination, if you choose the right practitioner, there will be zero pain (Unless yu are opposed to the odd hair pluck) – and no damage to your eyebrows. However, if you have extremely sensitive skin, it’s best to mention this before your appointment.
And what about my lashes?
If you like, we can shoosh up your lashes on the day with a Yumi lash lift. We also offer a brow lamination and lash lifting package (Lift Me Up). Then you’ll have banging brows and lovely lashes to flash about the town. Just chat with our receptionist when you book your appointment.
And after my appointment?
No heavy exercise, showering or getting your brows wet for a good 24-hours after your appointment. Other than that, you’re good to go. Keep in mind though - you may feel a little ‘weird’ for the first day or two after your appointment. Your brows might feel a little stick-straight and not what you’re used to. This passes quickly, though. And, after 24 hours, your brows will soften slightly. If you don’t like the ‘straight up’ (hairs pointing vertically) look, you can brush them sideways for a softer result. Plus, our brains have a way of adapting pretty quickly. (Remember how you couldn’t stand the way your boyfriend moved the lounge around, then you forgot about it a few days later? Exactly.)
How long does it last?
Your brow lamination should last around eight weeks.

This includes brow lamination, tint or dye, trim, tweeze and wax finished with a YUMI keratin mask.
Lift Me Up treatment (Yumi lashes + tint + lamination): $190.
