A private lesson offers a personalised, considered approach to makeup — whether you’re at the beginning of your journey or looking to refine a specific skill. With over 18 years of experience, Holly is known for enhancing natural features and tailoring each session to the individual.

Bring along inspirational images, or allow us to guide you through techniques and styles suited to you.

For a fully tailored experience, choose a one-on-one session. Or share the experience with a friend and book a duo session.

Each session is designed to leave you feeling confident and capable in your technique.

You’ll also receive a personalised face chart to take home, created during your lesson, so you can easily recreate your look.

Before Your Appointment

To help you make the most of your makeup session, we recommend the following:

Arriving with minimal or no makeup will allow us to make full use of your time, however this is simply a suggestion.

All products are provided, though you are welcome to bring your own makeup bag if you would like guidance on items you already use.

If you have any allergies or specific preferences, including vegan products, please include this in your booking notes.

You may wish to bring reference images, or photos of yourself when you feel most confident, to help guide your session.

It’s completely normal to feel unsure or a little overwhelmed — our role is to guide you with care and create a relaxed, supportive environment tailored to you.

We kindly ask that sessions are not filmed, to respect the experience of other clients and staff. We are happy to take photos or short videos at the end of your appointment if you would like.

You’re welcome to take notes during your session, or we can complete a personalised face chart for you to take home, outlining the products and techniques used.

  • Absolutely! In fact make-up application on mature skin is one of our areas of expertise, here at Holly Garvey Studio. We view age solely as a number, while appreciating how structure, texture and overall anatomy changes over time. We want to help you gracefully apply your skincare and makeup with confidence.

  • Not at all! This is the prime reason behind why I started my business, as helping others is a core value of mine. My team and I are trained on how to encourage your skills without overwhelming you. 

  • Yes, this is a strong point of mine, which I have ensured my team are well-equipped with also. I have a wealth of experience with application on darker toned skin, along with vast education from my training in Manchester England.

  • We love to host group classes and have the capacity to host up to 8 people but recommend 6 for comfort.
