Lash & Brow FAQ

  • The Yumi Lashes treatment takes your natural lashes and delicately lifts them from the root to make them appear longer and fuller. We are also able to comb and separate each lash in the process to give the appearance of a fuller lash. The eye appears bigger, the lashes appear longer, and we apply a complimentary tint to give the eyes a great 'pop!' The formula is a very gentle keratin protein treatment that adds nutrients and vitamins into the eyelashes. It's hypo-allergenic, cruelty free, ammonia free and extremely nourishing unlike many other lifting solutions.

Semi-permanent makeup (SPMU) FAQ

  • Depending on your skin, health and if you come for touchup refreshers, your semi-permanent tattoo will last from 2-5 years.

Here are some factors will cause your semi-permanent tattoo to fade faster:

    • Oily skin

    • Retinol or Vitamin C

    • Iron deficiency

    • Sun exposure

    • Exfoliants

    • Exposure to salt water

  • Getting semi-permanent makeup is slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable. The tattooing process lasts about an hour.  We use an excessive amount of numbing and our technique is very gentle. If you are nervous about pain, you may take 1-2 paracetamol before your appointment (absolutely no blood thinners i.e. ibuprofen)

  • No, we do not touch up work done by other artists or go over existing tattoos. We believe in providing our clients with the best possible results, which starts with a clean canvas and our own work.

  • Yes, however, before the first Lip Blushing session we would recommend booking a few Lip Neutralising appointments to cancel out the cool tones. This means the initial color we tattoo MUST be orange! If we are to tattoo any other colour you risk darkening your lips further or having absolutely no results at all. When healed at 6 weeks, most if not all of the darkness in your lips will be covered and your lips will have a nudey-pink even tone. Note that results cannot be guaranteed and lightening or evening out dark lips may take a few sessions. If you are unsure if you have dark or cool toned lips you can send us a picture of your lips in natural light.

  • A touch-up appointment is required for all clients following their initial tattoo session and can be scheduled at the end of your first visit. During this appointment, we refine the shape and colour of your tattoo, deepen pigment where needed, and perfect any areas that may have healed unevenly. Touch-ups play a vital role in enhancing both the longevity and the overall elegance of your results.

We recommend scheduling your touch-up no sooner than 4 weeks and no later than 6 weeks after your initial session. Please note that touch-ups are an additional charge, and fees may increase if a significant amount of time has passed since your initial appointment.

  • Yes, you can have lip blush if you have lip filler. Lip filler does not interfere with the process of tattooing lips or the results in any way. Note that lip filler and lip blush appointments MUST be at least 4 weeks apart from each other.

  • This procedure can trigger cold sores for carriers of the herpes simplex virus. To prevent cold sores from flaring up it is recommended to go to your family doctor and get Zovirax or another antiviral medication prescribed to take 5 days prior procedure, the day of, and 5 days after. Note that a cold sore outbreak can alter the healed results of the tattoo. This is very important.

  • No! This is also very important and something to take note of before booking your appointment. Plan your day so that it is a no gym and coffee day. Do not consume any caffeine or alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment. This includes coffee, energy drinks, pre-workout and tea. These act as a blood thinners, causing you to potentially bleed during the process. This will stop the cosmetic tattoo pigment from holding in the skin during the tattoo process and make you less likely to sit still.

Waxing FAQ

  • Waxing is one of the best ways to temporarily remove unwanted hair. It is more effective than shaving because it removes hair from the roots, not just from the skin’s surface. Over time, hair in waxed areas regrows lighter and more sparse, or not at all.
Even fine hair shadows the face, distorting and aging your features.

  • No. This is a complete myth. Waxing, in fact, is know to actually stop hair growth all together in some cases. It is important to keep in mind though that waxing should be used as a temporary hair removal method as the slowing or stopping of hair growth takes many years of consistent waxing.

    • Anyone currently taking Accutane or who has taken Accutane at any time within the past 6 months.

    • Anyone who has an active Herpes outbreak

    • Anyone with a sunburn on the area to be treated

    • Anyone who has had a chemical peel over the treatment within the past 7 days

    • Anyone who has used any type of Retinol within the past 36 hours over the treatment area

    • Any area of the skin showing signs of trauma, varicose veins, open or active acne lesions, eczema, psoriasis or any type of dermatitis will not be waxed

  • After body waxing, avoid heat (hot baths, saunas, direct sunlight) and activities that cause sweating for 24-48 hours. Moisturize with a gentle, fragrance-free lotion, and after 48 hours, gently exfoliate to prevent ingrown hairs. Wear loose clothing to avoid irritation and refrain from touching the waxed area. Avoid scented products and swimming for the first 24 hours. If irritation persists, apply aloe vera or a soothing cream to calm the skin.

  • Yes, you can get body waxing done while pregnant or breastfeeding. However, keep in mind that your skin might be more sensitive due to hormonal changes, which could make waxing feel slightly more uncomfortable. It's always a good idea to let your therapist know you're pregnant or breastfeeding so they can adjust the treatment if needed.

  • Body waxing can typically be done every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. It's best to wait until the hair is at least 1/4 inch long to ensure effective waxing. Regular waxing can lead to finer and slower hair regrowth, allowing you to space out appointments over time. If you're unsure about timing, your therapist can recommend the best schedule based on your needs.
